Ari Grossman-Naples, the facilitator of Printing and Graphic Services at the Northwest Regional Education Service District, the largest education service district in Oregon, is IPMA's Region 1 Coordinator. "I am passionate about working for in-plant facilities in the non-profit sector and the educational system in particular," explains Ari, who has served the district for the past 6 years. Based on this desire to help the non- profit publishing sector, while earning his Master of Science degree in Graphic Arts Publishing at Rochester Institute of Technology, he wrote his final research paper on Personalization Marketing in the Non-Profit Sector: The Effects of VDP and DAM Implementation on Present Day Fundraising Campaigns. (Ari is making this 44-page document available to IPMA members by contacting ipma1@mindspring.com)
"I had been looking for an organization that could specifically address the issues I faced managing the day-to-day operations of an in-plant facility and was delighted to find (IPMA) this valuable resource." He goes on to explain, "Even though I have had the opportunity to pursue my formal education, I have spent most of my time managing an in-house facility without the benefit of in-plant specific resources or guidance. In a sense, I had to reinvent the wheel! I believe that while formal education is great, there is no substitute for learning first-hand from the experience and knowledge that can only be gleaned from a body of my peers. IPMA is such a body."
