Julio Rosado and the NYPD Printing Section welcomed representatives from the New York City Police Department, the Department of Social Services, Human Resources Administration, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and the Department of Citywide Administrative Services to NYPD Police Headquarters for the NYC Printers meeting to discuss current events impacting printing within the city.

Mike Loyd – IPMA’s Executive Director attended as a guest speaker and talked about IPMA’s history, advantages and benefits of being a member of IPMA. He also discussed his experiences as a printer, member and his current position within IPMA. Mike also touched on Managed Print Services and their business threat to in-plant organizations.
Sidney Stoddard – Vice President – Print Finishing Systems also gave a presentation comparing traditional bindery services to the current digital workflow and automation processes available on the newer systems. Throughout the presentation he showed many types of systems and solutions available from a variety of manufactures that would complement a print shop. He mentioned that regardless of the size of the shop, there were many options available to match anyone’s needs. Sidney also provided answers to questions related to the equipment displayed on his presentation including the latest offerings from Standard Horizon, Duplo, Challenge, Formax and several other manufactures provided by Print Finishing Systems.
After the meeting was over, there was a tour given to those that had never been to the location.
Plus, before the meeting there was discussion amongst several managers via phone regarding the inkjet summit, upgrades to technology and personnel issues.
