March 5, 2026

KEARNEY, MO: The In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) announced today that Erica Derrington, Assistant Director of Graphic Communications for Olathe Public Schools, will join the IPMA Board of Directors as Member-at-Large effective March 1.

The Member-at-Large role is a voting position on the Board and is designed to strengthen alignment across key IPMA initiatives. In this capacity, Derrington will serve as a liaison between the IPMA sales team and the Board, support member engagement, recruitment, and chapter events, and assist with conference activities including new attendee meetings and the Annual Town Hall. She will also chair the IPMA History Committee and contribute to blogs and social media efforts that enhance IPMA’s public image.

“On behalf of the IPMA Board of Directors, I am very pleased to welcome Erica Derrington of Olathe Public Schools to our board as Member-at-Large,” said John Cruser, President, IPMA. “Erica brings valuable experience and insight to our association, and we are excited to have her join our leadership team. We look forward to her contributions as we continue to support and advance the in-plant printing and mailing community.”

Derrington is the Assistant Director of Graphic Communications for the Olathe Public Schools in the Kansas City area. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and graduated from the University of Missouri–Columbia earning an art degree with an emphasis in graphic design. She joined Olathe Public Schools as a Graphic Designer in June 2000 and moved into management approximately five years into her career, first as an assistant manager and eventually as manager. In early 2025, she became Assistant Director and is currently overseeing the move of the print shop to a new location.

“Becoming part of the IPMA board is a wonderful way for me to give back to an organization that has supported me throughout my career. I’m excited to help IPMA continue to grow and thrive,” said Erica Derrington.

Derrington has been a member of IPMA since 2012 and earned her CGCM certification the same year. She has engaged actively with the association through online resources, annual conferences, local road shows, and by serving as a judge for the IPMA print awards. Outside of work, she is married with two children and enjoys cooking and baking, decorating sugar cookies, creative art projects, puzzles, school volunteering, and staying busy with family life. She has also been a member of the Olathe Noon Optimist Club for over 20 years, supporting the organization as a webmaster and graphic designer and contributing to fundraisers and youth projects around Olathe.
